Tapping

Get Up CD-Single, "Tapping"

This a slow and song.  It has that S-K riffery we love so much.  There is probably a lesson here: You start with a great riff and when you get ready to move to the chorus, you tweak it a little (Riffs 1 and 1a).  You take another riff and change the end each time through it (Riff's 1a, 2, and 3).  In Riff 3, there is the call and response thing that both quiets the song down and hooks.

The vocals add a great deal to the harmony as usual.

  • Quarter note = 168 or so.  I tabbed it like this so there wouldn't be any 16th notes. The real tempo is about 80.
  • Standard tuning.
  • Tabbed where it felt good on the fretboard but there are alternatives.
  • These images a pretty big.  I hope you can be patient for the graphics to load.  (They aren't that big, I hope.)
