We need families to host approximately 6 students (4 girls and 2 boys) and one chaperone (woman). The chaperone's host should have adult(s) in the home who are willing to act as the contact person. Students must stay in homes where there is a Grady student of the same gender. Thanks. ***Parking lot helpers needed Sunday, Oct 6, noon - 4PM to help operate 10th Street lot during the Avon Breast Cancer Walk. Call Joe Giardina at 404-885-1071 ***The Council of Intown Neighborhoods and Schools (CINS) and the North Atlanta Parents for Public Schools (NAPPS) are sponsoring a debate between the candidates for State School Superintendent on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at 7:00 pm in the Grady High School Theatre. Bill Nigut, political reporter for WSB-TV, will moderate. The program is free and open to the public. Dessert and coffee will be served. Would you like to volunteer? We are looking for talent (presenters) and we need loving dedication to our students (monitors). Announcements ***************** **The PSAT will be given on Tuesday, October 15. Funding has been made available to pay for 10th and 11th graders. Freshman may also take the test but will have to pay $15. Freshman may register daily from 8:00 to 8:45AM in the main office. Payment must be made in cash or money order only. 10th and 11th graders do not need to register. Students should bring three #2 pencils and a calculator on test day. 5-24-02 9AM Visions of the Future, Theater 5-25-02 2:00 Graduation, Civic Center Aids Walk Atlanta on Sunday, Oct 20 counts for volunteer hours! Please register with Ms. Whitten. It is a 6.2 mile walk that begins at Piedmont Park. $5.00 tickets are available for the Saturday afternoon matinee of Taming of the Shrew at the Georgia Shakespeare Festival at Oglethorpe. 2pm Performance only! October 12. Anyone wanting to go should call me or email me by 4pm Friday afternoon so I can give their box office a ticket count.
