***Health Occupations Students of America is sponsoring a BLOOD
DRIVE on March 29, 2004. Please sign up to donate blood with one
of the Health Science students or come to room 108. Blood is still
critically needed.
***The nominating committee for the 2004-05 PTSA executive
officers was elected at the general PTSA meeting on Tuesday, March 16th.
The committee members are: Dr. Vincent Murray, Ms. Carolyn Deadwyler, Ms.
Marsha Brown, Ms. Martha Rusche and Ms. Deborah Strack.
If you would like to be considered for any of these positions, please
contact Ms. Deadwyler: 678.641.0027, or deadwyle@bellsouth.net, within
the next 3 days
Grady PTSA Executive Board (current bylaws): President, Vice President,
Secretary and Treasurer. The election will take place at the April general
PTSA meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 7 PM.
***Advanced Placement Exams will be given the weeks of May 3 and May
10, 2004. AP studentst have received a calendar of dates and
list of fees required to take the exams. Registration and fees are due

***Proctors needed for the Georgia Graduation Test Volunteers
are needed to proctor the Georgia Graduation Test. Testing is scheduled
for March 22-26 from 8:45 until 11:30 and will be held on the Grady
campus. Junior parents are not allowed to proctor for this test. If you
would like to volunteer for any or all of the 5 testing days, please
contact at nellmorgan@comcast.net or call 404-892-8661.
***A practice SAT will be given on Saturday, March 20, from
8:00AM-12:00PM at Grady. Cost of participation will be approximately
$20.00, to cover the cost of the testing materials. The test will be
administered and timed exactly like the test the students will take on the
27th.
***Mr. Philips is offering an SAT prep session for March 25
Students who are interested should sign up in the Counselors' Office.
***GRADY DISCOUNT CARDS ON SALES
Discount cards are available from Coach Millen, baseball and football
players for $10. The money raised supports these atheletic programs at
Grady. The cards are good thru October 2004 and include significant
discounts at neighboring businesses; Jersy Mike's, Caribou Coffee,
Dominoe's, Wolf Camera, Subway, Sig Samuels, Church's Chicken, Burger
King, Moe's and Joe's, Popeye's, Zesto and several other establishments.

Applications are now being accepted for the following summer
educational programs:
- TBS SUMMER PROGRAM Program.Applications are now available for
juniors and seniors who are interested in employment with the TBS
Summer Program. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA. See junior or senior
homeroom or English teachers for applications. Applications are
due to Ms. Grishman by 3/18.
- ATLANTA SUMMER SCHOLARS (Westminster): FREE program for
rising 10th and 11th grade students who have an 80+ GPA. Participants
choose between studies in Humanities and Math/Science programs. The
program also includes writing lab for AP and college essays, SAT
preparation, local field trips and a Southeastern college trip. Marta
tokens are provided if needed as well as transportation to/from a
designated Marta station to the campus. Dates are June 16-July 16,
2004 from 8:30AM- 3:10PM. Applications are available from Mrs. Carter
and Mrs. Grimes in the Counseling Center. Final application deadline
is March 29, 2004.
- DUKE TIP SUMMER STUDY PROGRAMS - for grades 9-12. See Mrs.
Grimes. Final application deadline is March 19, 2004.
- FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY SUMMER MUSIC CAMPS - See www.music.fsu.edu for information
