**** We need the city to post signs reserving the bus lane and
moving the handicapped parking space forward to accommodate the length
needed for all buses. Please help us by contacting your councilman and
request this done. Also you can call and speak to Mr. Luke Cofield (phone
# 404-330-6501 of City Traffic & Transportation.
**** Reminder: Please leave the bus lanes clear on Charles Allen
Drive during drop-off (7:30-8:45) and pick-up times (3:00 - 3:45).
Parents, we started the year very well, honoring the bus lanes, now cars
are being parked there and blocking the buses. School staff are then
required to track down the driver to remove the car. This takes time away
from our students. Please honor the bus lanes. Thanks.

magnet parents and students are invited to attend. Also, all
perspective parents and students are invited to attend; there will be a
special session for this group after the main program. Please help spread

Regular season meets:
-Sep 3 - Grant Park 5K - Everyone who has met the eligibility requirements
(including 15 practices) will run. 5:00 pm
-Sep 6 - Berry Invitational - 5K, Berry College, Rome, GA. Leave school at
7:15am. Top 10 boys and top 10 girls will compete. (possible overnight if
we decide to run in the first race AAA/AAAA)
-Sep 10 - Grant Park. 5:00pm Everyone
-Sep 17 - Grant Park. 5:00pm Everyone
-Sep 18 - Promina Corporate Challenge - Team volunteers at water stop,
community service project
-Sep 20 - Bulldog Stampede - University of Georgia Golf Course, Athens,
GA. Top 18 boys and top 18 girls can compete. Leave school at 7:15 am.
-Sep 24 - Grant Park. 5:00pm Everyone

Post Season Cross Country Meets (Top 12 eligible for these meets)
-Oct 23- Region 5AA championships Region at Our Lady of Mercy School on
Old National Hwy. Race times are 4:30 for girls and 5:15 for boys. There
will be a JV race at 3:45, but we are not going to take kids out of school
for that. Top two teams in the region advance to state automatically, the
3rd and 4th place teams may run in a sectional on Saturday, Nov 1st .

Please change the date of November PTSA meeting to Tues, Nov 11th (it
can't be on election day)

1st Thursday of every month -- band parent meeting 6 pm Media
Center
The 10th Street Parking Lot will be closed from 11/8 to 12/12.
Centex will be working in this area during that time. Curbs and sidewalks
will be added. The lot will be re-surfaced with punch-outs in the middle
of the lot for trees. Students who drive cars will have to park on
the street during this period. Since parking on the street is limited,
drivers should arrive earlier to find a space.
