Comments on my first try with CopyBoy

You can find CopyBoy here.  But I'd rather call it "CityGirl"

I downloaded CopyBoy installation module, VB6 runtime, and a Grid control.  I kept getting ActiveX errors so I downloaded this:

If that doesn't work, the remaining possibility is that you don't have a
recent enough version of ADO on your computer. That you can remedy at
http://www.microsoft.com/data/download.htm - anything from version
2.5SP2 on up should be fine. But with you getting that error both on
load and on file-open, I'm betting it has to do with the grid control,
in which case the setup will fix things.  The downloaded file name was: "mdac_typ"

That helped, no more ActiveX errors.

Now, I'm going to try to add a text file to this site.

So, I opened the "copyboy test" .cty file in CityDesk

Then loaded CopyBoy.

In CopyBoy I opened the ."copyboy test" .cty file.  Copyboy didn't default to the file I had open in CityDesk but no problem.

I used the CopyBoy "browse" button to open a text file.  I filled in the headline, teaser, etc. etc. and clicked the "Import" button at the lower right of the CopyBoy Screen.

Going back to CityDesk, I View-Refreshed the files and voile, the imported file was there.  The file name was "C:\Program Files\My Documents\1_usability\novembergradydates".  Here it is.  Just a notepad file.

I moved my imported files into the appropriate directory.  Maybe CopyBoy should let me choose a directory, who cares right now though.

I'm going to try an HTML file now.

When I selected an new file in browse, all of the other fields were left over from the last imported page.  I guess there are good reasons to do that -- a bunch of similar files into the same site.  Didn't help in my case though since I'm playing around.

Well, it imported just fine (with the graphics of course).

I like CopyBoy just fine so far.
