For all of you concerned with ensuring that Atlanta's Tree Ordinance is properly applied and enforced, this list of phone numbers gives you a place to start should you see possible violations.

You see a zoning variance sign and want to know what's up.

You see a building permit posted on a site and want to double-check that it complies with the tree ordinance.

You see a yellow permit to remove trees posted on a construction or future construction site.

You wish to file an appeal of a tree removal permit. Note: You have fifteen days from the time the permit is posted and the trees are marked for cutting to file an appeal. There is a $75 cost to file an appeal.

You see construction crews working on a private site and they do not have an approved permit or they are in violation of tree protection ordinance. (For example, crews have not set up silt fences or have not provided adequate protection for existing trees.)

On private property (It may be too late to save the trees, but call anyway. Property owners and tree cutters may be fined if they cut trees without a permit.)
