- What are the reasons the other sites were not chosen?
- Were environmental impact studies performed on all the other sites you onsidered?
- How did these results compare with the results for the Morningsidesite?
- Since EMF¹s are classified as Class 2B Carcinogens, like asbestos, why would you chose to place a substation in a residential neighborhood?
- What were the results of your study on upgrading existing substations?
- What percentage of the electrical power from this site will go to homes and businesses in Morningside?
- What percentage will be for customers outside of Morningside?
- Of the areas that would be served by this substation, which area¹s needs are greatest?
- Has an environmental impact study been performed? What were the results?
- 11. How much of the proposed site involves wetlands or floodplain?
- How far would the proposed substation be from South Peachtree Creek?
- This site is in a neighborhood, near a major water tributary (S. Peachtree) and it¹s floodplain / wetland area, and also very near Wildwood Urban Forest, Atlanta¹s new nature preserve. What could possibly make this site so desirable?
If the proposed substation were built:
- What are the plans for placement of the substation? Drawn plans should be available to the neighborhood on Feb. 25th, 2003.
- Would the substation ever be enlarged should it be built at this site?

- What would Georgia Power do to compensate those homeowners near the site whose property values will decrease should this substation be built?
- What will Georgia Power do with our neighborhood entrance monument in front of the 2020 Lenox Road property?
- What would Georgia Power do to compensate the neighborhood of Morningside Lenox Park for placement of a substation just inside an entry into our residential neighborhood?
- Would Georgia Power be willing to sit the substation on the site so that maximum buffer layers could be placed between the substation and the street and surrounding homes? Example: brick wall, mature trees, shrubs, then perenials.
- Would Georgia Power be willing to place mature trees and shrubs in the buffer areas to maximize screening of substation?
- How much money will Georgia Power be willing to place in escrow for routine maintenance and upkeep of the buffer area?
- Would Georgia Power sound insulate each unit in the substation?
- How much money will Georgia Power be willing to spend on sidewalks and good lighting surrounding the area should the substation be built?
