Monthly Meetings
We meet on the second Monday of each month, 7:30 p.m., at the Morningside Presbyterian Church, 1411 North Morningside Drive. Our meetings are open to everyone. They last from one to two hours. (More meetings)
What do we do at the meetings? Our meetings are multipurpose. The MLPA Board conducts business. We have reports and presentations about things that affect our neighborhood and the city. We ask questions. We get answers. We socialize. We find out what is going on.
What can you learn at the meetings? It's a great way to find out what is happening in the neighborhood. Our committee chairs report on all aspects of our neighborhood and are there to answer your questions. You'll find out about city government as well. A representative from Atlanta City Council member, Anne Fauver, attends these meetings. The more informed we are, the better the neighborhood.
What can you contribute at the meetings? If you have a question, a problem, a solution, or an opportunity that affects your neighbors, you can find help here. If you want to help, meetings are a way to find out how to share your unique talents. You are sure to find someone who shares your interests and your neighbors need your contributions
Going to your first meeting. We know that meetings can be boring, confusing, uncomfortable, and redundant. There are occasional disagreements and differences of opinion. Well, that's true for all meetings. We know that it can be intimidating to enter a roomful of strangers who know a great deal about the neighborhood. We aren't strangers; we are just neighbors who haven't gotten to know you yet. If you attend, you don't have to speak, you don't have to volunteer, and you won't have any homework.
