Dear members, dear friends,

In April this year we have the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II in Halle. The fate of the town of Halle is one of the most posititve ones in the whole war. Compared with other cities like Dresden or Hamburg, which lost their "faces" forever, in Halle  many lives and homes were saved.

The "Timberwolves" played a big role, that is why they were honored in 2003 by the erection of a memorial in Halle. Count von Luckner is the only one, who up to now, has not been honored. You know that our society would like to change this.

So we intend to open an exhibition on April 15. It will be "The Timberwolves - Halle / Germany - Felix Count von Luckner" and contains photographs telling the story of 1945 and introducing the participants. For the first time this exhibition was presented at Barby/Elbe in October last year. Many Timberwolf-Veterans were with us, furthermore, Mr. Fletcher M. Burton, the American Consul General and a member of the American Embassy.

It is designed as an touring exhibition and the first stop of our tour is going to be Halle. This is a great chance to do public relations for our society and for our final target getting the Count honored. Probably some Timberwolves will be with us again, and hopefully Mr. Burton can be our guest too.

For the organisation of the exhibition we need money (approx. 2,000.00 EUR). We already got 500.00 EUR by sponsors.

If you got any idea how to get more sponsors it would be highly appreciated.

Very best regards

Matthias J. Maurer
