I found your site to be very helpful in my search but i didn't notice if u had any poW records for WW1 as my great grandfather's ship was sunk by the Moewe and he was taken prisoner, if u do have any information would u
please let me know it would be so helpful thank you very much.

Thank you for your message.

No, I do not have details of any POW's taken by Moewe, she was the most successful of all the WW1 German Armed Merchant Raiders, making two cruises, and therby twice beating the British blockade.

Do you know the name of GG's ship in which he was sunk by Moewe? I will search the net, and see what I trawl up regarding POW's from her. But, it is so much more likely that I will get a result if we can be specific with a ship name, rather than just generalise about POW's from the actions in which Moewe was involved, when she was a WW1 Raider.
