By Dentist *3,700 homes planned for New Smyrna Beach Dear members, dear friends, It is time to get you informed about some news of the society, there are quite a lot, but I did not have enough time to send newsletters anyway. In this letter I wish to inform about Barby, which is a small town located in Saxony-Anhalt between Halle and Magdeburg on the river Elbe. It was the place where the 83rd Division (Thunderbold) in 1945 could build up a strong bridgehead. At Barby there is an old mill, without any function at the moment. This empty building shall be made to a photogallery, and they decided to show this building to sponsors etc. And they wanted to show it in the planned function so they asked us to do an exhibition just for one day as a so called "Kick-Off-Event". We took the chance to get an exhibition done on "The Timbewolves - Halle (Germany) - Felix Count von Luckner" with about 70 photos. We invited Mr. Fletcher M. Burton, the American Consul General, a member of the Embassy of the United States and, last but not least, the Timberwolves who where in this area during those days. Believe me, we had a wonderful time together and soon you will see some photos of Barby and some others when we were together with the veterans of the 104th. Mr. Burton and the Sectretary Treasurer of the National Timberwolf Association, Mr. Glen E. Lytle, signed in the Golden Book of our society, and all of the other members of the group signed in the Guest Book of our society. The exhibition is intended to be shown in Halle in April next year. Best regards for today Matthias J. Maurer
