* FORT WALTON BEACH — Thursday was long expected to be the day the Emerald Coast Bridge Authority chose a preferred route for a proposed toll bridge from Fort Walton Beach to Okaloosa Island. The panel did choose, but still left people worried about their homes and businesses being swallowed by a new bridge.
