Campaign Diary by Willaim Coit
Monday, October 01, 2001What is the meaning of life? A question that I have always struggled with.
Should I buy a new Porsche, Range Rover, or Lakefront Home?
Does climbing the corporate ladder bring me fulfillment?
Should I marry or should I stay single?
If I marry, Should I have kids?
Should I give blood to the American Red Cross?
Should I help Habitat for Humanity build houses?
Should I volunteer for a political campaign?
Should I help feed the homeless? So many questions to answer...
September 11, 2001 was a wake up call. Life is very fragile. There are no guarantees for tomorrow. If you are not doing what you truly love, now is the time to make changes. I encourage everyone to find your true passion or purpose in life.
For me it was easy. I knew as an eighteen year old freshman at Southern University Baton Rouge, starting out in student politics that my journey would ultimately lead me to become involved in politics.
The question you should be asking yourself right now is: Should I buy a new Porsche or BMW, or Should I search for meaning in my life?
