Why I'm Running For Congress……

I am passionate about public service and I believe in the principles of democracy. I have  been fortunate to travel around the world to visit various countries, their governments and experience their culture. I've concluded that America is the best hope for guaranteeing its citizens the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Immigrants realize this as millions apply each year for visas to the United States. I'm running for Congress because I'm prepared  to usher in conservative principles to the 13th Congressional District. My campaign will address the following issues.

  1. Economic Development
  2. Education
  3. Middle Class Tax Cut
  4. National Defense

My first priority would be the revitalization of distressed communities in Georgia. I am deeply concerned about the disparity of economic development in the 13th District. The creation of jobs for all residents is the first step to creating economic self-sufficiency.  As a small business owner, I have first-hand experience with the need to infuse venture capital and government dollars to support and develop small businesses. I will develop a community business plan to prioritize investment projects. My economic plan includes maximizing the empowerment zone program and private investment to build the communities within the 13th District. As a nation, we must do all that we can to help small business owners and distressed communities prosper.

Second, I am deeply saddened by the state of education in Georgia.  Nationally, Georgia ranks at the bottom for SAT scores. We're 49th out 51 states and the District of Columbia. Georgia has the worst four-year high school graduation rate in the country. Our public schools have failed in an effort to provide students with skills for college or to enter the job market. I support reforms of the education system. I will work to promote excellence in the classroom and freedom of choice.  Parents should decide, not bureaucrats, how taxpayer money should be spent on the education of their kids.

Third, middle income workers provide a large percentage of their income for government spending. Special interest groups and major corporations have figured out a way to circumvent the system and pay little or no taxes. I think this is  unfair. I propose to return 33% of your federal taxes to you. If you make between $20,000 and $65, 000 under my plan you will get tax relief. I will be the voice for individuals who lack special interest money or connections in Washington.

Fourth, I support increasing defense spending to 325+ billion dollars a year. Our spending should approach levels reached during the Ronald Reagan Administration. The world is a dangerous and unpredictable place requiring American military vigilance. Weapons modernization may seem unnecessary, but it is precisely the overwhelming superiority of U.S. weapons systems that deters many potential adversaries from even attempting to challenge the international status quo for fear of conflict with the American military.

My agenda is ambitious. With your support, we can restore your faith in elected officials and begin the process of rebuilding the moral and economic fiber of America.
