Several projects to spruce up the Grady Building and Grounds are now in the works, and you can contribute to the beautification projects if you're so inclined.

Grounds

·  Work on bi-annual pruning of the shrubbery in Derthick Plaza, the courtyard, and the perimeter of the building.
·  Raising oak canopy along 8^th Street
·  Refurbishing grass under the oaks along 8^th Street
·  Mulching around shrubbery
·  Discouraging pigeons from gymnasium entrances
·  Placing bollards along 8^th Street parking lot to protect shrubbery and direct traffic

Building

·  Help teachers with requests for white boards to replace existing black boards
·  Make improvements in the teachers' lounge
·  Make improvements in the entrance/reception area

If you want to help spruce up the Grady grounds, come to Grady on September 8, which has been designated as Fall Work Day for the PTSA. Bring pruning shears, saws, wheelbarrows, gloves, shovels, and rakes to prune shrubbery in Derthick Plaza and the front yard as well as to spruce up the courtyard.
The Work Day is scheduled to last from 8 AM until noon.
