CLEANING: Please leave the house as clean as you found it. We do have maid service for the big things, but this is a housekeeping rental and you are expected to leave it clean, to get your deposit back we expect the house to be left clean. Please wash the dishes and any towels or sheets you have borrowed. Keep track of time, you need to be done and out by 10 am on your last day. If this is a problem contact Michael he can arrange maid service for a fee. Please return any furniture you have moved to its original location.
FOOD: When you leave please take your food with you or throw it away. Please remove everything from the refrigerator. Most people won't use what others have left behind. You are welcome to leave paper goods or detergent if you want as the next guests will probably appreciate that. You are of course welcome to any food, paper goods or detergent you find in the house.
GARBAGE: We provide 2 large garbage cans as part of the rental, you must leave at least one empty. If you generate more garbage than this you will have to make arrangements. Please take out all the garbage when you leave. At this writing garbage pickup is on Wednesday morning, this can change please check with Michael to be sure. The garbage must be on the street Wednesday morning before pickup. If you have more than 2 cans full they will pick up bags on the ground next to the cans. Don't leave bags of garbage out overnight we have raccoons that will open the bags and spread the garbage if there is anything that smells like food to them inside. Only put bags out Wednesday morning, the day of collection. Don't leave anything with food in it outside of the can until the day of pickup. Good garbage service just isn't available here, its too rural for public collection, and too lightly populated for a private service to make much money. Please make an effort to keep your garbage taken out, and not to accumulate it until you move out. When you leave if you leave more than one can full we will have to have the garbage hauled and will charge you $50. If you generate more garbage than the cans can handle call Michael (570-9241 or 962-9065) she can arrange to have it hauled, you will have to pay for it. One good alternative is to practice ...
RECYCLING: There is usually a recycle bin located a short distance down the bald point road, it's a road to the east about a quarter of a mile before 370 reaches the Welcome to Alligator Point sign and the Gulf. The last time we were down it had 3 separate bins, one for cans (aluminum and tin), one for paper, and one for plastic. You might want to check it out before you make a special trip; things change. Recycling is not only a good idea for the environment, but it can help prevent garbage can constipation.
OUTSIDE: Please pickup your trash from the yard and beach, if you have moved chairs or things onto the beach please return them. If you are tempted to leave your barbecue or beach toys or something behind take a good look at it and make sure it's something someone else would want. Unless you are sure please throw it away.
CRAB TRAPS: We try to keep crab traps next to the house for guests to use. Feel free to use them. Please help us keep these here and working for future guest use. If you don't find one you can purchase them in Panacea for $15 to $20.
GUEST BOOK: We try to keep a guest book in the house, please sign it and tell us a bit about your stay. Other guests will enjoy hearing about your adventures.
