Alerts From Virginia Highland

If you see any suspicious activity or need to report a crime you must call 911 first.

10/2, Thurs. 1:15 AM. A car was stolen from a home on St. Charles between N. Highland and Ponce Pl. A neighbor witnessed the car being loaded onto a flatbed tow truck and taken away. It was a red International brand truck with no markings except for the number 5 on the side. Partial tag # 6226. The driver was a black male, around 5'10", close-cropped hair, stocky build, in his 40s or 50s. The witness, out walking her dog, became suspicious when she noticed broken glass where the car had been. When challenged, the man claimed he was repossessing the car but he was unable to offer any documentation. He sped away, running a red light on St. Charles and Barnett, while the witness was trying to get his tag number. This was the second car taken from this home in 2 weeks.
